How do I request a refund for a donation?
Donations to PayPal Giving Fund are generally non-refundable. However, if your donation was made in error or wasn’t authorized by you, review our Donation Refund Policy to learn more.
To check if your donation has been granted to your nominated charity, click Track your donation in your donation receipt.
Alternatively, you can enter the transaction ID from your donation receipt in our donation tracker. If your donation has already been granted to your nominated charity, please contact the charity directly.
If your donation hasn’t been granted to your nominated charity and was made on PayPal’s website or app, please contact us. For a donation that was made on one of our partner's platforms such as GoFundMe or Facebook, please contact GoFundMe or Facebook directly to request a refund. The same eligibility requirements apply for refunds on any of our partner platforms.
If you believe that your donation was made in error, please explain clearly why you’re requesting a refund. Include the PayPal transaction ID and/or date and amount of the donation and the benefitting charity name.
If your donation is eligible for a refund, please note that any prior receipts received for a returned donation will become invalid. If you claim a tax credit on a donation that is refunded to you, that credit may no longer be valid.
