PayPal Express Checkout helps keep conversion in the (bean) bag for Milega

8 Sept 2020 | PayPal editorial staff

Milega is a family business serving Israel that has grown into a ten-store chain and an active ecommerce website that was added in 2003. The company provides high-quality beanbag-based furniture, linens, garden and outdoor products, modular seating, and products for baby and mom. Many of the products were born out of their own family’s needs, so convenient, innovative solutions are at the core of everything they do. Numerous other families and individuals are now served via distributors around the world and the website, which is considered Milega’s most successful store.

Challenge

With customer experience always a central focus, Milega wanted to successfully extend the same positive interactions customers get in their stores to the online environment. This includes trusted, convenient payment options. How could Milega ensure the transaction remained just as easy as shopping on their site for both mobile and desktop users?

Solution
During a website redesign to improve user experience, one of the first changes implemented was the addition of the PayPal payment option in 2018. PayPal Express Checkout removes the need for customers to enter and re-enter shipping and billing details. This is especially convenient when shoppers are using their mobile devices. Choosing PayPal Express Checkout on their shopping cart, ensures all of the necessary information is securely transmitted to Milega.

Outcome
After the introduction of PayPal Express Checkout, nearly one third of Milega’s transactions quickly started going through PayPal. That share of transactions continued growing even through several additional website changes. Options and ease of payment are helping lead to larger purchases and more frequent visits. Because customers feel safe buying on the Milega website, PayPal’s presence is contributing to increased online sales volume. And PayPal seller protection is helping give Milega the comfort that coverage brings.

After integrating PayPal:
30% PayPal Share of Transactions
15% Increase in Conversion Rate
10% Increase in Average Order Value

“Most customers that choose to pay with PayPal would not purchase on our website at all without PayPal. PayPal provided us access to new customers. In fact, 30% of our customers choose to pay with PayPal.”

— Yogev Avisar, Owner/CEO, Milega
