What is a PayPal Developer account?

The new developer sign-up flow on developer.paypal.com redirects a developer to select between a personal or merchant account. Once a developer completes all the steps of account sign-up, they are redirected back to the developer dashboard. This allows merchants to invite developers to access the merchant account using a secondary account. Developers will then have the ability to switch between merchant accounts where they are secondary users.

How can I invite my developer?

Using the PayPal website, here is how to invite your developer:

  1. Click Account Settings.
  2. Within Users click Add User.
  3. Select Developer and click Next.
  4. Enter the Developer email and message (optional.) We will send them an email with the details on how to get started.
  5. Click the check box to confirm the allowance of your developer to use a PayPal account connected to yours. We’ll securely store their info according to our Privacy Statement.
  6. Click Invite.

Once they accept it, we will assist them from there.
